سلامت جمعیت ها هنگام خرید:
همیشه این نکته را در نظر داشته باشید که جمعیت های سالم و قوی را بخرید هر چند قیمت آنها گرانتر باشد . خریدشان بهتر از خرید جمعیت های ضعیف و به طبع ارزان تر باشد .
چرا که جمعیت های ضعیف معمولاً بیمار هستند و یا مستعد بیماری می باشند و یا دلیلی وجود داشته تا این جمعیت ضعیف شده است . به دلیل دیگر یک جمعیت قوی در سال اول آنقدر بیشتر از جمعیت ضعیف عسل داده که نه تنها جبران تفاوت قیمتش را در همان سال اول می کند بلکه نیاز کمتری به تیمار کردن و مبارزه با بیماری ها و آفات دارد .
جمعیت قوی معمولاً در بهار یک بچه می دهد که این نیز یک نفع بیشتری برای زنبور دار دارد .
منظور از جمعیت قوی این است که در بهمن و یا اسفند ماه جمعیت دارای 6 تا 8 قاب که دو طرف قاب بطور کامل از زنبور پوشیده باشند .
